1/4 cup granulated sugar sub (I use Allulose) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08X17196C

3 Tablespoons corn starch

1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

3/4 teaspoon salt

FOR THE CRISP TOPPING

3/4 cup light butter, cut into cubes

1 1/3 cup old fashioned oats

1 1/2 cups flour

1/2 cup brown sugar sub (I use Sukrin Gold)

1/2 cup granulated sugar sub (I use Allulose)

1/4 teaspoon salt

1 Tablespoon ground cinnamon

Butter 9x13 pan and preheat the oven to 375°F. Set the pan aside.

In a large bowl mix together the sugars, cornstarch, spices and salt.

Peel and core the apples before slicing into thin 1/8 – 1/4″ slices. Add the apples to sugar mixture and toss to combine. You can use two big wooden spoons to do this, but I like to use my hands instead. Add the apples to the buttered dish and arrange in an even layer. Set aside.

In a medium bowl, stir together the oats, flour, sugars, cinnamon, nutmeg and salt. Use a fork or your hands to cut the butter into the mixture until it resembles wet sand and clumps together. Sprinkle the mixture evenly over the apples.

Bake at 375°F for 10 minutes before reducing the temperature to 350°F and baking for 35 more minutes or until the topping is golden brown and the apple layer is bubbling. Allow to cool before eating.
