Chocolate Chip Scones

If you love scones but hate all of the fat, calories & points you'll be in heaven with these chocolate chip scones!

So delicious and easy to make! Pair with your favorite protein for a great breakfast!!

RECIPE:

  • 1/2 cup light sour cream

  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour

  • 1 teaspoon baking powder

  • 1/8 teaspoon cream of tartar

  • 1/2 teaspoon salt

  • 1/2 cup light butter -cold and cut into chunks

  • 1 egg

  • 240 Lilys Chocolate Chips

  1. Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F.

  2. Grease an 8 scone pan and set it aside.

  3. In a small bowl, mix together the sour cream, vanilla extract, and baking soda. Set the wet ingredients aside.

  4. In a very large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, cream of tartar, and salt. (This is the dry ingredients.)

  5. Add the cold butter chunks to the dry ingredients and mash the mixture with a pastry blender or a with your fingers until the mixture is crumbly.

  6. Mix in the wet ingredients and the egg.

  7. Gently stir in the miniature chocolate chips.

  8. Create 8 scones.

  9. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25 minutes, or until they’re golden brown.

  10. Let the scones rest in the pan until they have cooled before taking them out or they will fall apart.
